GunnyGene said:I guess this is the place to hang this. No Mossbergs on this display, but I do have a 590 Mariner (stainless I think, but still trying to confirm) in the closet. Anyway, this is my display in the den. Not everything I have, but built this to showoff a few.
Pic is a little cockeyed, my fault.
From top to bottom:
Savage 6A (on top shelf)
1860's Penn Long rifle - Bown & Son, Pittsburg. Civil war history.
1880's Belgian double 12gage - Damascus barrels
Kentucky pistol (CSA reproduction)
1861 Navy Colt (CSA reproduction)
1st Model Iver Johnson .22 Sealed Target 8 (in flap holster)
.41 Mag Ruger Blackhawk (in cowboy rig) - love this gun
Harrington & Richardson 40mm Flare pistol Mk III 1916 Queens Mark
Winchester 9422M (1971) (on bottom shelf)
WWII Navy Officers sword (my fathers)
WWII Japanese Samurai (factory made) (captured by uncle on Okinawa)

GunnyGene said:No, Dad was on several ships prior to and during the war. Was ships company on the USS Astoria during the Sino-Japanese Hostilities in '37. Had one destroyer torpedoed running convey escort in the N. Atlantic, and some other adventures. He retired in '60 and passed away a few years ago. He did love the sea. I miss him.
The flare pistol was also Dad's.
The plaque was given to me by my last command when I retired in '83.
