Question Of The Month... (March 2015)

WOW dieselmudder. I can definitely understand why that would have been 'a pretty good debate'. Don't think that here is the place to give my views on that question,,,

And i understand the huge amount of pride that armed forces members take in defending our country. I am proud for them, proud to be their friends, proud to support them. Some days i question why i didnt enlist myself. BUT...... if it were all to truly go to hell, and turn ugly. what side do you take?

I didn't see "Those on government aid or subsidies" on the list so does that mean they are the "enemy"? o_O IF the SHTF, those reliant on government aid will soon look for other sources of food, water, alcohol, etc. once their local grocers have been looted and sacked. They will eventually spread out of the cities and into the suburbs--will you be ready? Have you talked to your neighbors about this? Do you have enough ammo?

There is a "badtown" area a mere 20 minutes away from me by car. Far enough away that I could call my neighborhood a "good" neighborhood. But once in a while the "thugs" will make an appearance. In fact, about a year ago, a neighbor got his work van broken into 10pm on a Sunday night and they stole some tools, credit cards and computer out of it. They found much of the stuff in the aforementioned badtown after one of the thieves was caught trading gas for cash using one of the stolen cards. But they never found his work laptop...

"But how could this even happen? You are just being a wacko-alarmist, Bob!" OK, imagine North Korea detonating a small nuke over the west coast of the US. Radioactivity would be the LEAST of their worries as the HEMP could knock out the power grid catastrophically, resulting in widespread food shortages within a week.

Not sure where we're going with this? I have a few unlucky friends who lost their jobs due to factory closings, and one who had an OTJ injury and is fighting for his benefits, they're all now on aid. They're upstanding, honest people who most would be proud to have as friends. I wouldn't consider them the enemy simply because of their present circumstances. If the SHTF, once OUR local grocers have been looted and sacked we'll also be looking for other sources of food, water, etc. Those 'others' could be the ones sharing their supplies and rations with me. Yes, I have enough ammo to defend myself...

After some consultation with God, I hope I would choose the side of Righteousness. Webster definition of righteous: 1. Morally right and just.

 Now I'll really make that list

I too, have many friends and family undergoing hard times. And they are, IMO, deserved of the benefits, and if the SHTF, also deserved of the help others could provide in times of crisis. They are not "living off the system" and are appreciative of the ability to help any way they can but also looking forward to being able to get back on their own.

What I'm implying is that when (and if) the SHTF, those without (because it is no longer able to be provided--ie: gubmint collapse), may be looking to "acquire" from those with... And there will be no way for those with to provide to those without. Morality will have to take a backseat to survival and protection of one's family...

I'm talking if the SHTF. And I hope to the gods I or my children, and their children (and so on), NEVER have to experience such an event...

Got it Brother Bobster :)
Amen to that.

So how did the debate turn out? I only know a few that are currently active or reservists and of those that spoke on it, none would disarm Americans or turn guns on citizens. I guess that's why ex military are on the list.

I'm confident none of my friends will turn on me. In fact they are the ones i will turn to should it ever come to that. They will know the SOP and tactics that we may possibly be fighting against. And they have leadership skills that would be much needed.

They are on the list because most ground troops are trained to kill, know how to use weapons and explosives and probably hate the idiots holding elected positions. If the pols had their way, all returning military personnel would be put on an island only to be used again in event of war. They are scared of what the military represents and the fact they can't control them if the SHTF...

Agreed. I have read posts and blogs from anti gunners who laugh and scoff at an armed American people fighting the government because our military is so strong. They don't believe the military would side with the citizenry. They seem to forget that the liberal/progressive crowd generally hates the military.

The list seems more like a hit list of people/groups disliked by the liberal/progressive crowd. They are the people that are hindering the decline of the American Republic and the end of Constitutional Law.

It's time to jumpstart this thread a little bit. Here is my list of people that just might be enemy's to our nation:

  1. You know the 2nd Amendment was meant to be an individual right but will never admit it.
  2. You want to disarm the citizenry because you’re scared of them
  3. You think the Constitution should be ignored in favor of a progressive/socialist agenda
  4. You think that the answer to any problem is more government
  5. You think it’s just fine for judges to legislate from the bench and the POTUS to rule by executive fiat.
  6. You think the UN should supersede US sovereignty
  7. You know what UN agenda 21 is and support its implementation
  8. You are a muslim terrorist denier.
  9. You just know an AR-15 is a military rifle
  10. You love the security provided by the US military but don’t like them anyway.
  11. You think endless borrowing and printing of money is permanently sustainable
  12. You think the US citizenry is there for you and not the other way around
  13. You think it’s ok to spy on and record every aspect of every citizen’s life without a warrant.
  14. Criminals don’t bother you but a rancher in Utah that won’t bow to federal orders must be stopped.
  15. You think it’s fine to release 35,000 illegal alien felons back to the streets of America
  16. You hate the term Illegal Alien but prefer Undocumented Voters
  17. You hate voter ID laws because they prevent you from stealing elections
  18. You move good paying American job abroad and brag about the McJobs that were created.
  19. You lie about the real unemployment rate
  20. You don’t wait for the facts before blaming the police and racism
  21. You think American exceptionalism is a myth
  22. You know the Founding Fathers were only in it for the money. The real heroes were guys like Marx, Lenin, Castro and Che.
  23. You despise the Gadsden flag and the motto “molon labe” after a professor told you what they mean
  24. You believe all American’s are global citizens first.
  25. You don’t trust anyone that posts on Mossberg Owners.
